Charlie Wolfe, CPA

Charles Wolfe, President of WolfePak Software, received a BBA in accounting from Abilene Christian University in 1980, CPA certificate in February of 1981, and MBA from Texas Tech University in August of 1981.  Charlie also holds certifications in Computer Programming (CCP) in 1979, Data Processing (CDP) in 1980, and Computer Networks (Novell CNE 4 in 1996, CNE 5 in 1999, and CNE 6 in 2003, Microsoft MCP in 2005).  Microsoft recognized WolfePak in 2005 as one of the first companies in Texas to earn the Small Business Specialist recognition.

Charlie’s work experience includes working as a system analyst and programmer for independent data processing service bureaus, for the audit departments at Halliburton and Gearhart Industries, and as a controller for Russell Petroleum, a small independent with offices in Texas and Kansas.

In the middle 80’s, IBM started selling a little computer called a PC.  Charlie recognized that these machines were more than mere toys and they had the potential to be a real business tool provided the software was there to make things work.  In 1986, working as a hobby on a 2 floppy based system, Charlie developed his first General Ledger accounting program that had many of the same features found on the large mainframe systems of the times.  Trying to keep books with the system himself, he went back to work on the system and soon came out with a 2nd version that was easier to use.  Others saw how easy it was to use, and, through word of mouth, Wolfe started receiving a steady stream of phone calls from people wanting to buy the system.

In addition to running WolfePak with it’s 30 employees, Charlie is an active member of the school board, overseeing a 100+ million dollar budget. Charlie has also participated in various other community activities including the Mayor’s task force on technology, Leadership Abilene, Day Nursery of Abilene, Boy Scouts District Council board, Better Business Bureau board, and the Small Business Council of the Abilene Chamber.

Karen Ewing, CPA

After working 4 years for a large, local, public accounting firm Karen came to work for WolfePak Software in 1991 and immediately became a brand new CPA in the state of TX.  She was proud to be WolfePak’s first non-family member employee.  Karen had previously used WolfePak at the CPA firm since 1987 and found the software extremely user friendly and intuitive and was excited to enter into this new frontier.  Very quickly she realized by working at WolfePak meant she would have to learn the oil and gas industry and gained valuable experience by doing onsite training for some of WolfePak’s first oil and gas customers.

Karen has been involved with many organizations including past President of the Institute of Management Accountants-Abilene chapter, Treasurer of the Abilene Texas Society of CPA’s, member of the Chamber of Commerce’s Abilene Business Council, recipient of the Business Associate of the Year Award by the American Business Women of Abilene in 2002, member of the Council of Petroleum Accountant’s Society, and Leadership Abilene Graduate – class of 1998.

In addition to Karen’s very full WolfePak schedule she also spends time raising her teenage daughter, is a certified master gardener, avid reader and active church member at First Central Presbyterian Church.  In her “spare” time she is studying for the Forensic CPA certification.

Delone Witt

Born and raised in Texas, DeLone has been in the accounting field for over 25 years.  Although a graduate from Parks School of Business in Denver, Colorado, she feels her knowledge was learned mostly from the many years working in the public accounting field.  In 1995, she moved from West Texas to East Texas and after a short stint as a professional portrait photographer, she went to work for an affiliated Texaco distributorship learning first hand about tank gauges, sticking tanks for gasoline and state excise state reports.  Wanting to be closer to her daughter, the family moved to Abilene and back into the certified public accounting world.

DeLone came to the Pak in 2001 when the CPA she was working with retired.  “I was so excited to be offered a job with the software company that I used in the ‘real world’.   I tell people that I thought working three years in WolfePak Software made me an expert – boy was I surprised to find out how much I didn’t know.  Now six years later, I know enough to know that I don’t know it all but each day brings a new adventure and new learning skills from oil and gas operations to office organization.”

In the WolfePak family, DeLone wears multiple hats.  She works in tech support, coordinates all training classes for new users and companies converting from DOS to Windows Software, teaching training classes, and even gets practical experience paying bills and making deposits for WolfePak using the new scanning features.

DeLone stays just as busy outside of the office being involved in community service projects.  For five years, Delone has coordinated Christmas in November, an annual arts and crafts show, for the Oro Negra Chapter of American Business Women’s Association while also serving as its President and Ways and Means Chairman.  DeLone also belongs to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and is active in the American Cancer Society and church activities.  Prior to moving to Abilene, DeLone was president of the Lioness Club and the Levelland Chamber of Commerce’s Marigolds.  Active as an adult 4-H leader, she has sponsored many a 4-H activity locally and statewide.

DeLone and Mike, have one daughter, Shannon and son-in-law Brandon.  The pride and joy of the whole family is grandsons Beau 11 and Bryce 5.

Fawn Scott

Born and raised in Nolan, TX, Fawn graduated as Valedictorian from her high school and then attended the University of North Texas in Denton where she majored in accounting.

For the next 30 years, she and her husband owned Scott Fuel Company in Sweetwater, TX.  During that time she learned valuable business and accounting experience in the refined fuel industry including transportation and convenience stores.  Fawn began her first association with WolfePak as a client and hands-on user in 1994 which led her to lots of WolfePak experience.  Fawn was so well versed in the heavily regulated fuel industry that she was a consultant for excise and other regulatory questions from WolfePak Software.

Finally, in 2004, WolfePak was able to convince Fawn to become a valued member of the WolfePak team where she has excelled in learning the oil and gas industry from the inside out.  As one of WolfePak’s lead on-site consultants, Fawn brings a wealth of WolfePak knowledge and industry experience as a key consultant and instructor of WolfePak Software.

Fawn states that she takes great pride in the opportunity to help WolfePak clients

with their software and training needs as well as the privilege to be a part of the “great!” WolfePak technical support team.

Outside of WolfePak, Fawn has been actively involved in the Sweetwater Chamber of Commerce, the Nolan County Junior Livestock Show (including past Board of Directors), and an adult 4-H leader.  As a 4-H leader she had the opportunity to lead several team contests to the state and national level.

She also enjoys reading, her children, precious grandchildren and anything they might be involved in.

Fawn and her husband, Johnny, have 1 son Joseph and daughter-in-law Amanda that reside in Bryan, TX with two precious boys Tyler, 10 and Dylan, age 5.   Their daughter Melissa lives in Sweetwater.
